The Bega River and Wetlands Landcare (BRAWL) Group Inc is a voluntary, community organisation which monitors, plans for and implements activities relating to Bega’s rivers and wetlands. The group began in 2006 and works in cooperation with the Southern Rivers Catchment Management Authority (SRCMA) and Bega Valley Shire Council (BVSC). BRAWL have been fortunate to attract funding from various sources to undertake significant projects. Combined with the successful partnerships with SRCMA and BVSC, the Bega River has become a place that the community are very proud of. The group has a working B on the first Monday of each month. There is a strong active core of members. Main activities include weed control, revegetation, flora and fauna monitoring and community information/field days.
