Information session for livestock producers
Dealing with a variable climate is challenging for livestock producers. The Far South
Coast has had a dry winter and very late start to spring. Recent rain has eased the
situation, but the practical options covered in this workshop will help you prepare for
the next dry period. The workshop will focus on beef and sheep, covering:
· pasture assessment and measurement
· options for and economics of supplementary feeding
· animal health and condition
· market options and outlook
· financial counselling and funding opportunities
· rural resilience
Presenters include:
· Doug Alcock (Grazprophet Consulting)
· Helen Schaefer (SE LLS, District Veterinarian)
· Stewart Smith (Livestock Agent)
· Peter Muirhead (Rural Financial Counselling Service)
· Ted O’Kane (Rural Resilience Officer, NSW DPI).
